At The Hostel we provide comfortable accommodation at great rates! We understand that whether travelling as a tourist, backpacker or getting away with friends, comfort and budget are high on the list of priorities - we provide that and more, in the most stylish and funky hostel in Edinburgh!
Arriving by train:
The Hostel is located directly across from Haymarket train station. Exit the station and cross the road. The Hostel is located on your left. From Waverley Station follow the below bus instructions.
Arriving by bus:
From the airport, take LRT shuttle bus number 100 and alight at Haymarket Station. We are located directly opposite the station. From St Andrews Street Bus station it is a 25 minute walk or take LRT bus number 12, 26 or 31 from the gardens side of Princes Street and alight at Haymarket.
Arriving by Air:
Take the LRT shuttle bus 100 from outside the terminal building and alight at the Haymarket station.There is an airport bus link back to the airport directly across from The Hostel.
Arriving by Car:
Approaching from Glasgow or the A8 (Edinburgh Airport), follow the A8 to Edinburgh city centre until you reach Haymarket Station and The Hostel is located on your left hand side. Car Parking is available at Morrison Street NCP Car Park, 6-24 hours is 9.50. Prices are subject to change.
Arriving on foot:
From Princes Street head towards Frasers department store at the West End. Continue straight along Shandwick Place then straight onto West Maitland Street, towards the Haymarket clock tower. Pass Grosvenor Street on your right hand side and The Hostel is located on your right, directly opposite Haymarket Station. Approx 20-25 min walk..

Conditions & Policy
*We accept long term lets up to a maximum of 2 weeks. It is at the managements discretion to allow stays for longer than 14 nights* *Check-in from 14:00 - 23:00p.m. Check-out 10:00am* *All guests must present photo Identification on arrival* *All reservations are payable in full on arrival, no refunds given. *All cancellations of bookings MUST be made 48 hours in advance. I.E, At the latest 10.am 2 days before date of arrival. E.G. Cancellations for Friday arrival must reach us by 10.am Wednesday. For Groups and New Year reservations see relevant clause below. No amendments are allowed on or after arrival all balances paid on or before arrival and are NON-REFUNDABLE. *Please no under 18's unless in private rooms or a group booking. *Late check-in available for 5. You must call us at least 48 hours in advance to advise of a late arrival. *We ALL LOVE SLEEP, so we operate a Quiet time Policy from 2300 0800! Staff wake-ups are charged at 10 each time for non emergencies. *Any reservation of 8 or more persons is considered a 'Group Booking' Terms and Conditions and Cancellation procedures. This list is neither limited nor final on date of release. Any further details or changes will be forwarded to the customer as soon as applicable. 1.a. All deposits and pre-paid stays are non-refundable in any circumstance. This also accounts for people who wish to shorten their reserved stays after payment on arrival. 1.b. All cancellations must be made by telephone or email by a minimum time of 10a.m. 2 days before arrival or the full cost of 1 nights stay shall be deducted from the bookers credit card details. Group and New Years reservations see above. 1.c. Group bookings of more than 8 people cannot be canceled within 14 days of arrival date and the 1st night of the entire stay will be charged. 1.d. Hogmanay (New years reservations that cover the 31st of December) ALL RESERVATIONS MUST BE PAID IN FULL BY THE 1st DECEMBER. CANCELLATIONS MUST BE MADE BEFORE the 1st DECEMBER OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED THE FULL AMOUNT OF THE ENTIRE STAY. ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE IN ANY CASE. Any reservations made after the 1st December must be paid in full and are non-refundable. 2.a. Any Group reservations of 8 or more people MUST provide a minimum 20 per person cash security deposit on arrival as security on any losses incurred through damage, nuisance to other guests and loss of revenues. i.e. Damage to bedstead = 110, sickness/soiling = 25+ etc. Any arrivals after 11pm incur a 5+ fee and must be arranged in advance. The breakfast provided is free of charge and may be withdrawn at any time. Due respect to other guests should be shown whilst staying in our hostel. We have a traffic light system for all deposits. One warning from staff - Green, 2nd Warning - Amber = Complete loss of all Security deposit, 3rd Warning = Immediate removal from the premises. Bringing guests back to the Hostel is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal from the hostel of the entire group with no refund. 2.b. Any costs not covered by the security deposit may be taken from the Original Credit Card used to make the reservation or otherwise invoiced by arrangement. Ultimately the person who made the reservation is responsible for any and all costs required to be paid to West End Hostel or its Named representative. 2.c. A log will be kept of any incidents and where possible cctv footage will be used as evidence in any case. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who we feel is unfit through alcohol or drug use or may present a threat to any guest or staff. Due to the high demand for accommodation in Edinburgh over the New Year celebrations, guests will be asked to settle 50% of their total accommodation amount, which is non refundable, one month prior to arrival when booked into the hotel on the following dates: 29 December - 1 January (Inclusive) If cancelling any bookings for these dates we require no less than 2 weeks notice for there to be no further charges made to your credit card. Cancelling within 2 weeks of your arrival date will see the total remaining balance of your bill charged to the credit card details provided to us with your booking. Cancelling group bookings - If you are a party of 8 or more people our standard group cancellation policy applies. Cancellations must be made no later than 2 weeks prior to arrival or 1 nights cancellation charge applies for the entire group cost.
